My name is Julien Posture, I’m a queer illustrator and PhD student in anthropology living between Montreal, New York, and Cambridge (the old one).

As an anthropologist, I’m interested in how people and machines look together and against each other. As an illustrator, I enjoy making beautiful images that are part of people’s everyday lives, from the magazine they read over breakfast to the mural they pass on their way home.

I write a newsletter called On Looking about the creative economy, capitalism and visual culture in general.

Je parle aussi - surtout - Français.

This photo was taken to illustrate an essay about hot men making bad art and the shift from showing one’s artwork to showing oneself online. I don’t usually look this obnoxious.
